Tony is married with two adult daughters and four grandsons.
He is an Engineer by profession and was formally a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Tony spent a brief period in the mining industry with CRA/Rio Tinto. This was followed by fifteen years with the electrical power conglomerate ASEA in their mining equipment and electrical power generation and transmission department as a project engineer, project manager and contracts manager. Following this, he moved to the aircraft industry working for Hawker de Havilland Victoria for fifteen years in contract management, aircraft and aircraft engine repairs and maintenance and finally, as the company’s General Manager.
Tony then moved in the consulting business for four years, until he was attracted back into full time employment with GKN Aerospace Engineering in commercial management of this aircraft design contractor for four years. During his time at GKN he also served on the board of the Automotive Cooperative Research Centre.
In addition to his position on the Board of Burke and Beyond, he serves in a voluntary capacity as a client manager for Great Connections, an organisation that sourced mature age professional volunteers to take on projects with the not for profit sector to assist them to develop their business management skills including governance, risk management, business planning, marketing, organisation development etc.
Tony joined the Board in 2010.
