New job for Next Step Blackburn participant.

Valid provided participants from Burke and Beyond with an opportunity to apply for a new job as a Valid 8 Program Officer which I was really interested in. Speaking up for people's rights who have a disability and having a voice to be heard, and have a say means a lot to me. Andrea supported me to complete my resume and write an email to Valid which I sent off. I was so excited to receive an email from them which said that I had an interview for the position!

At Burke and Beyond I practiced interview skills and we rehearsed questions and answers to feel more confident and ready for the day.

On the day of the interview I was nervous and excited but felt prepared. I think the interview went really well and a week later I had an unexpected call from Valid. I received the job and I felt really proud and happy! I'm looking forward to learning in my new job as a Valid 8 Program Officer and can't wait to share my voice.
