Davina Bate
Davina holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a Post Graduate Certificate in Autism and a Masters of Special Education. Her current role is Principal at Giant Steps a school for children with Autism that provides a transdisciplinary approach to education. She has more than 20 years' experience in the disability sector and has spent most of this time specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Davina has worked across the primary and secondary age range in autism specialist schools in the UK and Melbourne.
Davina’s interest areas are in Educational Leadership, focusing on building educational excellence through the delivery of high-quality education programs that are responsive to the needs of students with complex learning profiles. In addition to the promotion of inclusive practices, through education, raising awareness across the wider community and the creation of opportunities for community engagement and partnership. She is passionate about lifelong learning empowering young people to access high quality educational programs that equip them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to live a full and purposeful life.
Davina finds balance in life with fitness and enjoys being outdoors with her two boys, family and good friends.
